The West Virginia Power picked up a win at Grayson Stadium, knocking off the Savannah Sand Gnats, 3-1. Starting pitcher Alex West was a big reason why. Mike James was credited with the save for West Virginia, his 6th of the season. West Virginia is now 22-25, Savannah 30-17.

West Virginia relied on the bat of Von Wheeler to get the win. The second baseman produced a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put the Power ahead, 3-0. For the game, Wheeler had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said West after the game.
