The Augusta GreenJackets knocked off the Delmarva Shorebirds, 8-4, in South Atlantic League action at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Augusta pitcher and Cary, North Carolina, native Dave Allen had an outstanding performance. The GreenJackets improved their record to 19-30 by beating Delmarva.

Augusta used the hitting of José Moreno to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the GreenJackets on top, 1-0. For the game, Moreno had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Allen.
