The Lakewood BlueClaws powered past the Hagerstown Suns, 12-5, at Municipal Stadium. Steve Thomas provided some of the pop. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 4 and driving in 5. Ed McClarnon earned the win. Jim Wallace took the loss for Hagerstown. So far in 2026, Lakewood is 24-25.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the sixth, with the game tied, José García was at the plate when Lakewood scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the BlueClaws to go in front, 4-3.

"Nice win for us," said García. "Now we'll go after the next one."
