The rain came, as predicted, but the Lexington Legends and Augusta GreenJackets were able to complete their ballgame.

The 5-3 Lexington win over Augusta was due in large part to Steve Tamamura. The Legends first baseman was 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Ed Barton picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-2. He struck out 4 in 6.1 innings. Greg Moody earned the save for Lexington, his 2nd.

With Lexington trailing 1-0 in the top of the third, Tamamura hit a splitter from Alan Melvey for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Legends ahead, 2-1.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Tamamura.

The defeat makes Augusta 25-25.
