GreenJackets Show No Mercy in 10-0 Thrashing of Sand Gnats
Today was Alan Melvey's turn in the rotation for the Augusta GreenJackets and he made the most of it, shutting out the Savannah Sand Gnats on 5 hits.

The 24-year-old left-hander led the GreenJackets to an easy 10-0 victory, allowing 2 walks and tallying 11 strikeouts.

"I hope we miss him next time," Savannah manager Tyler Colvin said. "Melvey certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."

Melvey has posted a 2-2 record for the year with a 3.07 ERA. Teams are hitting .241 against him and he has rung up 30 strikeouts in 41 innings.
