The Kannapolis Intimidators racked up a win at NewBridge Bank Park, bumping off the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 5-4. Tim Reyes, who started for Kannapolis, pitched effectively for his team. Mel Walter earned the save for Kannapolis, his 3rd. With the win, the Intimidators sit at 32-25.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Lou Wilson? The 22-year old second baseman Wilson stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Kannapolis up, 5-4. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Greensboro manager J.A. Happ said, following the tough loss.
