Intimidators Get 5-1 Win Versus Lakewood
Lakewood wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Ed McClarnon, falling to the Kannapolis Intimidators, 5-1. McClarnon threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Geoffrey Jenkins came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 4 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Mel Walter picked up the save for Kannapolis, his 5th of the year.

Jeff Picot, who is tied for 10th in the SAL in home runs with 5, took Lakewood hurler Ed McClarnon deep in the bottom of the sixth. His solo home run put the Intimidators on top, 1-0. In all, Picot had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

Picot told a Kannapolis Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The BlueClaws, now 27-32, have lost 6 straight.
