Shorebirds Keep Chugging, Win, 4-2
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 23-year old shortstop Jimmy Koch, the Delmarva Shorebirds stopped the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 4-2, in 9 innings. Delmarva's winning streak has reached 6 games.
With Delmarva trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Koch hit a fastball from Tony Grant for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Shorebirds ahead, 3-2.
Koch attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."
