The Delmarva Shorebirds rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Aurelio Gobbi to a win, beating the West Virginia Power, 9-2, at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Delmarva is now 44-17, West Virginia 32-29.

In the bottom of the third, 22-year old shortstop Dave Morris hit a grand slam home run. The 3rd home run of the season for the Delmarva third baseman put the Shorebirds on top, 5-1.

Said losing manager German Melendez: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
