Zarate goes 3-for-4 to Power Shorebirds Offense
The timely hitting of Manny Zarate helped the Delmarva Shorebirds down the Lexington Legends, 7-3. Zarate went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Shorebirds. José Bustamante claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record stands at 2-3. Delmarva now has a record of 35-27 with the win.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the ninth, with the game tied, Joe Fletcher was at the plate when Delmarva scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Shorebirds to go in front, 4-3.

"This is a very good team," said Fletcher. "We have the chance to do something special."
