In a low-scoring contest between the West Virginia Power and the Greensboro Grasshoppers, Tony González was the X factor. The West Virginia left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Esteban Vallés earned save number 12 this season. The Power improved their record to 29-34 by beating Greensboro.

West Virginia used a well-timed hit by Ken Morris to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Power ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Tip of the cap to the Power," said Greensboro manager J.A. Happ. "They played a good game."
