Sand Gnats Rebuff Tourists, 6-4
|
The Savannah Sand Gnats cut down the Asheville Tourists by the score of 6-4, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop Mitch McLaughlin. McLaughlin went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs for the Sand Gnats. Jared Greene went 6 innings for Savannah to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs. He scattered 4 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 5. His record improves to 5-1. Savannah, at 41-22, is 2½ games up in the Southern Division.
