In a low-scoring contest between the Savannah Sand Gnats and the Greenville Drive, Bob Morris, who is tied for 5th in the SAL in wins with 7, proved to be the difference. The Savannah right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Sand Gnats win. In 6 innings, Morris surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Luis Lucero nailed down his 22nd save.
Tyrone Jackson, who leads the SAL in home runs with 8, had a direct impact on the outcome. Jackson contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Savannah up, 3-1.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Greenville manager Jason Wood.
The Sand Gnats lead the Southern Division by 3 games.
