Jerry Jones had an impact in the 12-2 Rome win over Asheville. The 24-year old second baseman was 3 for 3 with a triple, a double, and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The Hammers bumped their record to 42-26 with this latest triumph.

Edwin Huff had a big 2-run double for the Hammers in the bottom of the third inning. With Rome leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from Pete Mason and swatted a double to right. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hammers ahead, 4-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Jones told the Rome Chronicle. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
