The Augusta GreenJackets defeated the Charleston RiverDogs, 9-2, at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Augusta catcher Mario Gutiérrez had a superb performance. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Augusta is now 29-41. Charleston is 33-37.

Augusta took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when José Moreno hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the GreenJackets in front, 3-2.

"I know we have our doubters," said Charleston manager Brian Rupp. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
