The Kannapolis Intimidators defeated the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 9-5, at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. Leading the charge for Kannapolis was designated hitter Bernardo Díaz. He was 2-3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jorge Barrera earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. With this game in the books, Kannapolis is 40-31, Greensboro 44-27.

With Kannapolis trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Díaz hit a fastball from Sam David for a 2-run double. It was his 16th double of the season and put the Intimidators ahead, 2-1.
