Drive Need Extra Frames to Get Past Sand Gnats
The Greenville Drive knocked off the Savannah Sand Gnats, 1-0, in South Atlantic League action at Fluor Field at the West End. Greenville pitcher and Caguas, Puerto Rico, native Esteban Quintero had an outstanding performance. The winner in relief was Dan Bennett. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-2. Greenville is now 35-40, Savannah 44-31.

The Drive got a clutch hit from first baseman Tony Barnett. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Drive.

"A great game, a great day," said Quintero about the win. "I can't complain."
