Tourists Rally Late to Clip Charleston
The Asheville Tourists withstood a fine game by Charleston second baseman José Román at McCormick Field, to upend the RiverDogs, 7-6. Román was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Asheville reliever Pete Joseph picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. José Vázquez was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Robbie Deal.

Dave Norman, who is tied for 6th in the SAL in triples with 4, helped out the Asheville cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the center fielder was 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Dave Turgeon.

The RiverDogs, now 21-55, have lost 4 straight.
