Legends Flatten RiverDogs, 11-1
|
The 11-1 Lexington win over Charleston was due in large part to Héctor Marín. The Legends shortstop was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Ed Barton got the win, improving to 8-3. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 1 run, while striking out 5 and walking 0. With the victory, the Legends upped their record to 42-36.
Marín contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Lexington in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Marín took a curveball from Tomás Clemente and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Legends to leap in front, 3-1.
Charleston manager Brian Rupp called the blowout loss "not my idea of a good time."
