Greenville turned a fine outing from starter Robby Graves into a victory over the Greensboro Grasshoppers at NewBridge Bank Park. The final score was 8-2. By defeating Greensboro, the 4th-place Drive improved to 37-41.

Greenville center fielder Iván Juárez contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a curveball to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 68th hit of the season and put the Drive ahead, 3-0.

Said losing manager J.A. Happ: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
