Intimidators Rally to Win, 2-1
|
The Kannapolis Intimidators faced a tough opponent in Hickory pitcher José Jáquez, but still scratched out a win at CMC-NorthEast Stadium by a final score of 2-1 in 11 innings. Jáquez went 7.1 innings and allowed no runs. With the victory, the Intimidators upped their record to 43-39.
The decisive blow was delivered by Ron Ford in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Bernardo Navarro to win the game for Kannapolis. The home crowd went nuts.
"The crowd was juiced," said Ford.
