Tourists Drop 4-1 Decision
|
Lexington used a superb performance from starting pitcher Eric Hammers to down the Asheville Tourists, 4-1. Hammers got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 4 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. Greg Moody, credited with the save, is now 14 for 14 in save opportunities.
The Legends had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the sixth. The score was 4-0, Lexington, with one out. Asheville, with the bases loaded, was mounting a threat. Dave Norman dug in at the plate, but on a 1-1 curveball, he hit into a double play.
The win lifted the Lexington record to 47-39.
