Grasshoppers Deal Sand Gnats 5-3 Loss
The Greensboro Grasshoppers handed the Savannah Sand Gnats a 5-3 defeat at Grayson Stadium. Left Fielder Joey Murphy starred for Greensboro. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Ken Patrick recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 17 for 19. The Grasshoppers now have a record of 54-33 with the win over Savannah.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Micheal Burns? The 22-year old right fielder Burns stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Greensboro up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"No disrespect to the other team," said Greensboro manager J.A. Happ. "But it's nice to get an easy win."
