Getting a good performance from center fielder Micheal Burns, the Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Delmarva Shorebirds, 6-5. Burns went 4 for 6 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI for the Grasshoppers. The winner in relief was Merlin Mullins. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 4-2. With the win, Greensboro upped its record to 56-36.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Greensboro trailing 5-4, Burns hit a fastball from Robinson García for a 2-run single. In the blink of an eye, the Grasshoppers had a walk-off win.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Burns told the Greensboro Times.
