The Savannah Sand Gnats thumped the Greenville Drive, 13-1, at Fluor Field at the West End. Brad Oglethorpe was a big reason his team got the win. Oglethorpe belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Daniel Merced was the winner. Over 9 innings, he yielded 1 run on 3 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts. The triumph puts Savannah at 51-42 for the season.

With Savannah leading 3-0 in the top of the second, Oglethorpe hit a slider from Raúl Figueroa for a 3-run home run. It was his 17th home run of the season and put the Sand Gnats ahead, 6-0.

"It was full throttle on our side," said Oglethorpe.
