The West Virginia Power got a sterling performance from pitcher Dan Borner, but the Greensboro Grasshoppers still prevailed, 5-1. Borner came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters. Greensboro reliever Merlin Mullins picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. Tony González absorbed the loss. The losing streak for West Virginia has now reached 5 games.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Micheal Burns? The Greensboro center fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Grasshoppers on top, 4-0. For the game, Burns had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
