The Delmarva Shorebirds had no problem beating the Charleston RiverDogs, 11-0, at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. Jimmy Koch, who is tied for 6th in the SAL in home runs with 9, led the onslaught. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for Delmarva. The first-place Shorebirds, at 72-29, lead the Northern Division by 15 games.

Delmarva won the game in part because of Manny Salinas. The third baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put the Shorebirds ahead, 2-0. For the game, Salinas had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We took it on the chin tonight," said losing manager Brian Rupp.
