The Lexington Legends beat the Hickory Crawdads, 9-7, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Lexington catcher Wilson Osorio had an outstanding performance. He was 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Tony Burke, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 0.1 innings. Lexington is 50-57 and Hickory, with the loss, 54-53.

The decisive blow was delivered by Steve Beals in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Rob Kennedy to win the game for Lexington. The home crowd went nuts.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Beals, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
