GreenJackets Earn Late Win
The Augusta GreenJackets downed the Lakewood BlueClaws, 1-0, at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Stellar pitching by Oscar Floyd had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Augusta reliever Doug Taylor was the winner. His record is now 4-3. The losing pitcher was Garry Gilbert. Augusta is now 48-67. Lakewood is 57-58.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Jesús Correa in the bottom of the ninth. That's when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Barker to win it for Augusta and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Floyd.
