Savannah Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Rose
Savannah got a terrific game from center fielder Steve Rose. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to West Virginia, 12-9. Rose hit 3 home runs. Esteban Vallés closed out the game, earning his 25th save. With the win, West Virginia raised its record to 62-61.

Darren Wood had a big 2-run home run for the Power in the bottom of the third inning. With West Virginia trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Tomás Ganoso and swatted a home run to left. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Power ahead, 2-1.

"Winning is always a team effort," Wood said after the game.
