The Savannah Sand Gnats wasted an impressive 7-inning effort from starter José Agodo, falling, 2-1, to the West Virginia Power in 14 innings at Appalachian Power Park. Mike Stevens picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. José Jiménez suffered the loss. West Virginia is now 63-62, Savannah 68-57.
Bernardo Antonio delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 14th to win it for the Power. For the game, Antonio drove in one run.
"It was a test of wills," said German Melendez, the West Virginia skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
