|
The Delmarva Shorebirds scooped up a win at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, dumping the Lakewood BlueClaws, 3-2. Alfredo González, who is tied for 3rd in the SAL with a 2.28 ERA, was essential to his team's success. Robinson García recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 21 for 23. The first-place Shorebirds, at 83-46, lead the Northern Division by 9 games.
In the bottom of the third, Trey Zufelt delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Delmarva third baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Shorebirds in front, 3-2.
"I just tried to stick to my strengths," said González.
