RiverDogs Defeated by Legends, 5-2
|
Charleston catcher José Sánchez had a good game, even if his team did not. The RiverDogs dropped a 5-2 decision to Lexington at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Sánchez was 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. Kevin Richardson, 2-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. Steve Parker earned the save for Lexington.
Baghel Hakem had a big bases-clearing double for the Legends in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Lexington leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher José Cruz and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 29th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Legends ahead, 4-0.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Hakem told the Lexington News.
The 'W' lifts Lexington's record to 63-69.
