No one was more impactful than Reginald Ross in the 10-2 Aberdeen win over Staten Island. Ross, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2020 draft, went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Sergio Ortíz. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 6 hits in 3.2 innings. The defeat makes Staten Island 1-1.

Kip Larsen had a big 2-run double for the Ironbirds in the top of the fifth inning. With Aberdeen leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a curveball from fireballing right-hander Pancho Herrera and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Ironbirds ahead, 4-0.
