DSL Moves on to Round 2
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Toronto Blue Jays Complex as the Round 1 stretched to the final game.

It was the DSL Blue Jays feeling the thrill of victory, with a 11-5 win over the DSL Cubs, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Round 2.

"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said DSL manager Andy Haines. "Congratulations to DSL, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."

Instrumental in the 4-3 series win was second baseman Dan Parkinson, who was named MVP. He hit .367 with a .412 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 5 runs.

"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.

The DSL Blue Jays will play against the DSL Rangers in the next round. DSL won their series against the DSL Athletics 4 games to 3. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
