DSL Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
|
A big day on the mound from left-hander Alex Lewis was not enough to keep the DSL Rangers from opening up a healthy early lead in the Round 1. The Rangers topped Lewis and the DSL Athletics, 3-2, at Texas Rangers Complex in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Lewis threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs in the loss.
The decisive blow was delivered by Kevin Webber in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 20-year old right-handed pitcher Stan Poe to win the game for DSL. The home crowd went nuts.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Webber.
The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 6th , 2026 at Juan Marichal Complex.
