Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Luis Jiménez, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers lost to the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 11-8. Jiménez was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Etelson Peltier finished to wrap up his 2nd save. With their winning streak at 4, the Ironbirds have raced to a strong start this season.

Aberdeen used a timely hit from Willie Brown to get the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ironbirds ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Brown said. "We did a good job of that today."
