Lugnuts Lose at Home, 7-3
|
A good performance from left fielder Juan López helped the Bowling Green Hot Rods defeat the Lansing Lugnuts, 7-3. López went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Hot Rods. Duecha Kilonzo was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he yielded 1 run on 9 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. The win for the Hot Rods raised their record to 73-61.
López contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Bowling Green in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, López took a curveball from Jim Barber and stroked the home run to right. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Hot Rods to leap in front, 3-1.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said López.
