Tigers Get Gritty, 4-3 Win
Despite a fine performance by catcher Jesús Rocha, the Milwaukee (DSL) Brewers lost to the Detroit (DSL) Tigers, 4-3. Rocha went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Detroit (DSL) reliever Juan Vera was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-0. Johnny Blackwell took the loss for Milwaukee (DSL). Detroit (DSL) goes to 3-2.

The decisive blow was delivered by Nate Trent in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Johnny Blackwell to win the game for Detroit (DSL). The home crowd went nuts.

In postgame remarks, Trent hailed his team's "single-minded determination."
