The DSL Padres defeated the DSL Rockies, 9-4, at San Diego Padres Complex. DSL was led by 17-year old right fielder Raúl Elizondo, who was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Mario Ruíz earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 4.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The Rockies drop to 3-3 and continue their mediocre start to the 2026 season.

With DSL leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Elizondo hit a splitter from Iván Rodríguez for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Padres ahead, 4-1.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Elizondo said.
