Cardinals Deal DSL 6-3 Defeat
The DSL Cardinals topped the DSL Pirates, 6-3, in Dominican Summer League action at Las Américas Complex. The game was highlighted by the performance of DSL pitcher Eric Bogese. Bogese got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. Jorge Villegas earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.

The Cardinals got a big at-bat from designated hitter Raúl Medina. For the game, Medina went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season gave DSL a 4-0 lead.

"Eric was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said DSL manager Alberto Castillo.

The loss puts DSL at 5-4.
