The skies opened up and the rain fell at Pittsburgh Pirates Complex.

The DSL Orioles downed the DSL Pirates, 12-5. The hitting star was catcher Norm Wiggins. Wiggins went 2-3 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Orioles. José De La Cruz was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

DSL won the game in part because of Cedric McClendon. The designated hitter ripped a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Orioles ahead, 10-2. For the game, McClendon had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said McClendon, "and then get after the next one."
