The DSL Rockies beat the DSL Twins, 3-2. DSL pitcher and High Point, North Carolina, native Lou Cates led the way. Cates, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 13, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The loss has the Twins at 7-12.

Raúl Ruíz had a big 2-run double for the Rockies in the bottom of the fourth inning. With DSL leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 22-year old left-handed pitcher José Rodríguez and swatted a double to right. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rockies ahead, 3-0.

"I thought we competed really well," said Rockies manager Pedro Mega. "I thought the energy was really good."
