In a low-scoring affair between the DSL Giants and the DSL Dodgers, pitcher Chris Metcalf was the difference between victory and defeat. The DSL right-hander earned kudos in the 1-0 Giants win. DSL is now 10-8.
DSL used the timely hitting of Hieu Luong to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Giants on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Luong said his team "played with determination."
