The DSL Yankees overcame a pretty good performance by DSL left fielder David Adderley, beating the Pirates, 6-4, at New York Yankees Complex. Adderley was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Today's win puts DSL at 13-14, while DSL falls to 13-17.

The Pirates had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Yankees going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old third baseman Sergio Álvarez came to the plate. Álvarez hit a 2-run double on a 2-1 curveball from DSL hurler Luis Rosas. It was Álvarez's 2nd double of the year.
