Martin Goes Wild, But Cubs Win
Wet weather did not postpone the DSL-DSL ballgame.

DSL center fielder Walt Martin pounded DSL Cubs pitchers at Atlanta Braves Complex, but it was not enough to keep the Hammers from falling, 10-8. Martin hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5. Reliever José González picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Daniel Jiménez took the loss.

DSL used the clutch hitting of José Hernández to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Cubs the lead, 9-6. For the game, Hernández had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"I still think this team can play even better," Hernández told the DSL Chronicle.
