5-for-5 Day for García
|
Fans at Baseball City Complex got to see not only a home-team victory, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season.
The Baltimore (DSL) Orioles 2 outplayed the Toronto (DSL) Blue Jays en route to a 3-1 win, but the standout was right fielder António García. García netted 5 hits in 5 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line.
"Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Blue Jays manager Edwin Encarnacion said in postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too."
António García singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
So far in 2025 García is batting .328 with 2 home runs, 10 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has 40 hits in 122 at-bats and a .427 OBP.
