Cardinals Win, 2-0, in Extra Frames
The St. Louis (DSL) Cardinals faced a tough opponent in New York A 2 (DSL) pitcher Johnny Hale, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Las Américas Complex by a final score of 2-0. Hale went 9 innings and allowed no runs. Yes, it was a win for St. Louis (DSL); but their 9-28 record is still nothing to boast about.

The decisive blow was delivered by Desidério Canavezes in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a 2-run home run off 17-year old right-handed pitcher Kyoichi Matsumoto to win the game for St. Louis (DSL). The home crowd went nuts.

"We want to make a habit of winning," Canavezes said after the game.
