Red Sox Axe Nationals, 8-1
|
Red Sox catcher Juan Galván left his imprint on his team's 8-1 win over the Washington (DSL) Nationals. Galván was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Boston (DSL) in the contest. Israel Pérez picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-4. He struck out 5 in 5.1 innings. Boston (DSL) is now 18-26, while Washington (DSL) is 15-29.
With Boston (DSL) leading 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Galván hit a fastball from Chris Chapman for a grand slam home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Red Sox ahead, 8-1.
Said losing manager Eduard Santos: "I think Susan Sarandon said it, 'Hit it where they ain't.' We didn't do a very good job of that tonight."
