The rain came, as predicted, but the Cleveland (DSL) Guardians and Kansas City (DSL) Royals were able to complete their ballgame.

The Kansas City (DSL) Royals got a sterling performance from pitcher Eric Matthews, but the Cleveland (DSL) Guardians still prevailed, 3-2. Matthews threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Ty Allen notched his 5th save of the season.

Ignacio Medina had a direct impact on the outcome. Medina contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Cleveland (DSL) up, 3-2.

Afterward, Kansas City (DSL) manager Jim Brennan said: "We've hit a rough patch."

The Guardians improved their record to 28-22 with the win over Kansas City (DSL).
